Linvox

Linvox Support

Linvox adds a microphone button to Linear. Say what needs doing, review the draft issues, and create them in one click.

Getting started

  1. Install Linvox from the Chrome Web Store. The setup page opens the first time you click the button.
  2. Click Allow microphone and accept Chrome's prompt.
  3. In Linear, open Settings โ†’ Account โ†’ Security & Access and create a Personal API key. Read and Create issues access, limited to the teams you need, is enough. Paste the key into Linvox and choose your default team.
  4. Open linear.app and click the microphone next to Search in the sidebar.
  5. Speak, then click the button again to stop. Review the drafts, uncheck any you don't want, and click Create N issues.

Tips for good results

Common problems

I don't see the microphone button.
Reload the Linear tab. Linvox places the button next to Linear's Search button. If Linear changes its layout, the button may disappear until Linvox is updated; please let us know.

It says the microphone is blocked.
Open the Linvox setup page (right-click the extension icon โ†’ Options), click the icon at the left of Chrome's address bar, allow the microphone for Linvox, then click Allow microphone again.

It says my Linear API key is invalid.
The key may have been revoked. Create a new one in Linear and paste it into the Linvox setup page.

No issues were found.
Linvox only creates issues for things someone needs to do. Try stating each task clearly, for example "We need to fix the login timeout."

The assignee, label or project is wrong.
Change it in the preview before you click Create. Linvox only picks from your team's existing members, labels and projects.

Privacy

Your API key stays in your browser, and your audio is not stored. See the privacy policy for details.
